Kisses for the Mrs. I missed my sister’s wedding :(

It’s been a good week! We started teaching Familia Saransig. They are natives from Otavalo, like a few others we are teaching. We met them because the two little kids (ages 10 and 12) came to English class last week! They are a sweet family of 5 and are very receptive. My favorite part about this week was teaching them about the Book of Mormon. Its been said that the people from Otavalo may be the closest blood-relation to the Lamanites in the Book of Mormon. When we taught that their ancestors lived here, heard the word of God through prophets, and that we can read from their words they were ecstatic! And I was too! I am so honored to be able to help in this work of salvation. I am so grateful to be part of the prophecies in the Book of Mormon that speak of those who will bring the Lamanite prosperity to the truth.  I love it!!

This Saturday we had an awesome activity in the church. The idea was to “recreate” or “act out” the Plan of Salvation. Basically, we started in the chapel as the Premortal life where the plan was presented and each person received 10 “talents” to spend on Earth. While on Earth, there were a 5 or so different games that the participants could spend their money on, trying to win more. However, there was only one good game that would leave them with more talents than they came with. It’s a little hard to explain, but the idea is that they pick the good game and avoid the falsifying woos and temptations of the games which take their money. During earth life there was a Brother who was playing Death and would call people to come to the spirit world whenever he saw fit. Just as sister Romero was helping her daughter play a game, death chose her to come to the Spirit world. It was hard to see her leave her daughter there alone, even knowing that it was just a game and that they would see each other in a short 15 minutes or less. I was also touched by this. How often do we take for granted the life we have and the time that we get with our loved ones. We never know when all that could change, but what we do know is that because of the Savior Jesus Christ we can be families forever. I love love that and I cling to it. I know that the Plan is true and that we are here for such a short time. I want to give my all to the Lord and hope to make him proud.
I love the work! Keep living the gospel and to all those going to my Sister’s Wedding reception, party hard for me. haha
Love, Hermana Wyson
