Cotopaxi, Cows and Crutches

My view-Cotopaxi
My view-Cotopaxi

Hey guess what? It hasn’t rained for the past 4 days!!! Wow. I think its summer! However, one funny thing was that Wednesday (when it did rain) we were walking to a member´s house out in the middle of nowhere and we saw a cow grazing in the field with a rain poncho on. Hahhahaha I just about lost it. So funny. I’m sorry I don’t have a picture. Just try to imagine it in your minds. It’s something I will never forget.

Later in the week we were headed toward an appointment when we saw a lady hoping with one foot, using her older mother as a crutch. We decided to go help her out and after she told us about how she twisted her ankle running to get the bus, etc. she told us that she is a member of the church. Haha. She is even actively attending, however, she has a stake calling and is rarely in the ward. Anyway, we set up an appointment for later that day. They told us after that it had been a while since the missionaries had visited them (probably because no one ever knew where the house was).
We taught a young couple the Law of Chastity and that they will need to get married before being baptized. I thought that it may discourage them, but the next visit her Grandpa was present and said, “you know what? Tatiana told me she wants to get married!!! And she even has been reading the book you brought us.” He was so happy. Wooohoo! A proud grandpa and 3 proud missionaries. She was at church on Sunday and what did we learn about in Relief Society? Oh, eternal marriage of course. Too good. I love the gospel.
