Week 7 here in Ecuador was a new adventure. Seems like nothing is the same in missionary work…. you could teach the same doctrine 4 times a day and every lesson is different- I love it. This week we got to know a lot more of Latacunga- and by get to know I mean we got lost on the bus and had no idea where we were! hahaha Thats okay though because all buses eventually make it back to the main part of the city and we were only 30 min late to our lesson. whoops.
So part of missionary work is figuring out transportation and another part is finding places to go to the bathroom. I mean they teach us to drink about 2-4 liters of water everyday, but they never teach you that you`ll have to go to the bathroom 3-5 times per day as well… So to solve this problem my companion and I started contacting people by asking to use their facilities. And guess what? It totally works. We´ve ended up with 4 new investigators from this practice and I think we´ll keep it up.
In one of our lessons this week Hermana Solar and I were losing it! Maybe it was because we had to teach the whole Restoration while standing and our legs felt like jello. Anyway, first off I was giving an invitation for the family to read the Book of Mormon and I told them it was important to Read, Ponderize, and Pray. hahaha errrrr ponder– idk if that makes sense in English but it implies that they would need to memorize the entire Book of Mormon so that was funny. Then my companion testified that she `knows that Joseph Smith was a pamphlet of God` HAHA oh my- it was too good. Just to clarify, he was actually a prophet not a pamphlet. All in all the lesson was good. #missionprobs
We visited the Vega-Vivanco family this week and I just love them. There’s a family of 6 (mom and 5 kids) who live one the first floor and a family of 8 (parents andd 6 kids) who live above. They are so humble and loving. Maria taught us the importance of tithing because shes trying to pay it and has seen new opportunities for work in the past week, I love this Gospel and I know that the commandments are given so that we can have more joy in this life and the next.
